The 2019 Chardonnay slowly unfurls to reveal scents of fresh-baked apple pie, candied ginger, and peach cobbler with hints of cashews, honeycomb, and mandarin peel. Medium to full-bodied, lively, and with a compelling oiliness to the texture, it delivers loads of apple and spice layers with a honey-nut finish. This comes from the biodynamic Duvarita Vineyard, a marine-influenced site that is very windswept and low-yielding. The wine was barrel fermented, with only 2 barrels made - 1 neutral and 1 new - and aged for 18 months before bottling without filtration.
