The 2018 Melange Blanc is a blend of 40% Grenache Blanc, 20% Marsanne, 20% Roussanne, and 20% Viognier from Jack McGinley Vineyard in Happy Canyon and Camp 4 Vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley. It sings of fresh pears, honeysuckle, and orange blossom with wafts of lime leaves, yellow apples, and white peach. The medium to full-bodied palate has a satiny texture and lively backbone framing the intense, perfumed stone fruit flavors, finishing with a long, lingering citrus lift. This spent 22 months in barrel, on lees, with the Marsanne and Roussanne stirred regularly for about a year to lend more weight and texture. 30% new oak was used, all on the Marsanne & Roussanne, and all varieties were barrel fermented. The wine was bottle-aged for a year prior to release.
